Happy International Womens Day (Belated)

Yes, I know its a couple of days late, but its less than a week since my last blog entry. The Breakfast had over 1500 attendees with several politicians and students speakers. The key speaker, Malai Joya a 28 year old parliamentrian from Afghanistan gave a great speech. It was sad but inspiring at the same time. The fact that women are no better off than they were under the Taliban shows that there is a long way to go. She got a huge cheer when she pointed out the Australian government should align their foreign policies with the aims of the Afghan people, not the US governments.

In other procrastination efforts, my internet surfing led me to a new blog carnival related to Women in Science, Technology & Engineering. Although, it has an American and slightly academic bent, with my work background there are still lots of entries that I can relate to.
